A POST on PartingVision cites a February 2006 article from Computer Games Magazine as evidence for the new WoW alliance character race.
Fans have been stirring lots of sediment from the bottom of their coffee cups, trying to dredge up the answer that CGM purports, “Alliance players will enjoy playing as Draenei, and the new Blood Elf race gives the Horde faction its first exercise in what humans perceive as sex appeal (even though those Troll females are pretty cute).”
This rumor comes with a caveat from Blizzard, which in high diplomatic style neither confirms nor denies the veracity of CGM’s claims, “we have not provided any information or made any announcements concerning the new Alliance race to any Web sites, magazines, or other media sources. While we don’t want to discourage you from continuing your discussions on this matter, we ask that you keep that bit of information in mind. When we’re ready to announce the new race, we’ll eagerly share as much information as we can with everyone on our community site.”
No release date has be publicized for WoW’s expansion, the Burning Crusades. And Blizzard’s FAQ says that any news on the topic will arrive via their community website “in the months ahead.”
