Google Pages open the way for spam

GOOGLE’S new ‘Google Page’ service which offers people the chance to build their own website has lots of good things to offer.
It has a nifty AJAX interface, a few templates and 100MB to play with. It also gives you a webpage address based on your GMail address.

The downside is that when your site goes live it publishes to username.googlepages.com. And there is a slight problem with this. If you look at a person’s Gmail address you can work out their email address. If you can work out their gmail address any spambot can send them email, all you have to do is replace googlepages.com with gmail.com.

According to this site, perverts can see that sites are being run by a kid and start getting unwanted attention too.
