As promised earlier, SUSE LINUX has opened its entire 9.1 directory tree for free download and installation via FTP/HTTP: “SUSE offers the possibility to install SUSE LINUX free of charge directly from the FTP server. The function scope of FTP versions is virtually the same as that of the ‘normal’ version. Merely a few program packages have been excluded due to license reasons. The installation support is not included either.” More information about installing SUSE LINUX via FTP can be found on this page. Download the boot image from one of SUSE’s Mirror or try here: boot.iso (23.2MB). Then burn the image to a CD, boot from it, and follow the instructions. As always, have a lot of fun 🙂
