PRETTY MUCH the first thing Google did after agreeing to buy Upstartle in March this year, was take sign-ups for the beta of its online word-processor, Writely, off the web and work on development outside the public glare.
Now it’s back, for anybody wishing to investigate the buzz around Ajax-based tools that follow you around even if you don’t have your computer to hand.
If you need to compare and contrast against rivals or to investigate online spreadsheets, presentations et cetera, the good news is that there’s a ton of this stuff around, usually free.
