Buffalo launches TeraStation III-nas

Buffalo, known for its network attached storage devices, at the Cebit technology in Hanover a new TeraStation introduced. The device can hold up to eight terabytes of storage accommodation.

The new network attached storage, the name TeraStation III inherited and mainly on medium-sized enterprises oriented. Buffalo, the four disks in the system can be placed along with the TeraStation and the capacity of the drives, the price of the file server. The hard disks in various raid setups to be configured: RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 are supported.

The sata drives are hot swappable, so that in case of a disk failure without downtime can be changed. Depending on the raid-level data also intact: half TeraStation III may be switched to a fast replication of data to make the information as soon as possible are available. The NAS communicates with the network through a double-Gb LAN connector and two USB ports, extra USB drives are linked.

The TeraStation III needs thanks to its dual Gb network connections with support for jumbo frames capable data 60MB / s over the network to transport. The management of the NAS via a web interface, but via the built-in LCD screen, the status of the device are obtained. Various platforms, including Windows and Mac OS X are supported and can nas data streaming to DLNA devices. On the larger capacity has yet to be waiting for the second quarter, smaller capacities are readily available. Features and Benefits :
