Zoho Gadgets Target, iGoogle, Facebook, Orkut,Gmail etc.

What’s the biggest threat to cloud computing at the moment? Most of us might answer with something like cost, lack of stability or sluggishness. Zoho doesn’t think this way, though. It seems that for Zoho’s services the biggest issue is user laziness or forgetfulness.

Zoho has announced its new Zoho Gadgets. Zoho Gadgets are embedded into different websites, with support for iGoogle, Facebook, Orkut, or any other website with OpenSocial. The gadgets can also be pasted into other websites with the HTML code. These gadgets act like most other gadgets in iGoogle. They show a list of your Zoho Inbox, Docs documents, Calendar, etc. When you click on any of the items in the Zoho Gadget, it opens a new window or tab with that item in it.

All the gadgets are OpenSocial compatible – this means you can now use these gadgets in any OpenSocial compatible social network. We plan to provide gadgets for other Zoho Applications moving forward.

These gadgets can be embedded individually in any websites or can be added to iGoogle or any personal dashboard.
To start with, they are offering six Zoho gadgets.
# Zoho Docs (Including Writer, Sheet & Show)
# Zoho Mail
# Zoho Calendar
# Zoho Tasks
# Zoho Contacts and
# Zoho Planner

The first six Zoho applications the company is offering as gadgets are available now, free of charge, and include:

Zoho Docs – a gadget for managing Zoho Writer, Zoho Sheet, and Zoho Show files online. Users can create, edit and view all your documents, spreadsheets, and presentations from this gadget.

Zoho Mail – A mini-mail gadget for Zoho Mail that lets you view and send emails.

Zoho Calendar – a calendaring gadget that lets you add, view, and track events and appointments

More – Zoho is also offering gadget versions of Zoho Tasks, Zoho Contacts, and Zoho Planner. Going forward, the company plans to offer gadget versions of other Zoho applications.
