Micron intros memory for AMD's K10

AS THE TIME for launch of AMD's K10 for desktop slowly approaches, so its infrastructure is being built.

Graphics memory gets speed boost

SAMSUNG SAID the next generation of its graphics memory - GDDR4 - can slosh data around 66 per cent faster than existing chips.

The 80 nanometre 4Gb/s memory. made in 512Mb densities, will start sampling this month. Samsung said the graphics chip and card makers are having spasms of rapture at the memory type.

Samsung releases fastest GDDR-4 SGRAM

SAMSUNG IS WELL ready for the upcoming war between Nvidia's G80 refresh and ATI's R600.

The semiconductor division of this manufacturing giant announced that it has started mass production of 512Mbit (64MB) GDDR-4 SGRAM chips boasting a massive 1.4GHz working clock in DDR mode.

Vista will work on 512MB of memory

VISTA will run with 512MB of memory, but you need 1024MB to feel more alive and get at least some of the wow effect. Apparently, the Vole wanted to make 1024MB the recommended amount of memory available to Vista but some tier one vendors piled on the pressure to decrease it to 512MB. We suspect it was Dell.

THE MAKER of printer ink HP is in trouble with the Bank of Ireland's trade unions.

In 2003, HP signed a contract with the bank to manage its technological needs for a seven-year period. Under the deal Bank of Ireland workers had transferred to HP as part of an outsourcing detail.

Samsung gets flash up to 2Gbit

MEMORY MAESTRO Samsung said it has made 60 nanometre memory chips with 2Gbit (gigabit) capacities which also double write speed.

The firm's "One Nand" range can write data to 17MB (megabytes) per second, double the speed of earlier chips it fabricated.
