The Acer Aspire Timeline was designed to enlarge your world by completely changing your expectations of battery life. Arguably an Ultra-Low Voltage (ULV) processor and thin-and-light chassis don’t make quite as much sense in a form factor this large, but let’s see how it actually holds up. The laptops from the Timeline series can be described as light and portable laptops with long battery duration. Almost all laptops are between two and three hours which is not sufficient for business user or student.

The Acer Aspire Timeline 5810T is a super thin and compact laptop with a weight of only 2400 grams. Battery duration of eight hours
Acer claims that the laptops from the Timeline series a battery time of eight hours, provided that use of the Acer introduced energy-saving features. With a simple push of a button to switch the power saving features of the Timeline-laptop. Wireless internet is off, adjusted the brightness, the processor is running at a lower clock speed and even the DVD drive is off.

Acer Aspire 5810T Timeline screen

Since Acer has chosen to implement the monitor as an HD LCD with LED illumination, the battery time significantly improved. In qualitative terms, the display, except the energy saving aspect, little more advantages than a default LCD screen. It is clearly visible that, and especially dark colors, very nicely displayed (black is really black).

Memory and Temperature
Like most of us know DDR3 memory running at a lower voltage than DDR2. It is therefore easy to understand that Acer has chosen DDR3 memory instead of the older DDR2. With a thickness of only 2.5 cm and a weight of 2.4 kg (including battery), The appearance of the laptop is with me lots of flavor, especially because everything is kept nice and simple. Acer has very quickly the tendency of laptops devices with a lot of fancy buttons and lights.

Acer Aspire 5810T Timeline main looks

Through the ‘Acer Comfycool’ the heat from the laptop divided over the laptop. This ensures that laptop do not get hot when it is use for a long time used. Even after four or five hours of intensive use I felt hardly accumulated heat to the bottom of the device.

Some features
The built in webcam has a HD resolution recording and knows a picture on the screen magic, which many other webcam beats in terms of quality.

DVD-slim line

Acer has chosen a standard DVD drive from Samsung to use. This can be done by a button on the keyboard is opened. I think it was better if there was chosen for a slot-in drive with no buttons to be useful and also beautiful in the design of the laptop was appropriate.

If you regularly visit or business computer is well informed about developments in the laptop world, then you might know that the Acer Aspire series developed, a new type of keyboard, much like Apple keyboards. The Timeline laptops also have a keyboard. The button is easy to print, but the elongation of the clip is quite fast.

HD playback
Playback of HD content (720p/1080p) with this laptop no problem (25 percent CPU load). There should still be made using Media Player Classic that hardware acceleration possible. The use of the laptop in conjunction with an HDTV is easy to do thanks to the HDMI connection.

In normal use, the battery indeed nearly works for eight hours long, though in most cases, slightly lower at six to seven hours, an excellent result for an ordinary laptop computer. Something from the outset, all attention is the extreme silence of the device.
