Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Review

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Review

Galaxy Note 2 is the first device to get Jelly Bean Pre-installed after Google Nexus Tablet. Loaded with Android 4.1 OS, it offers you rich features and exclusive touch support that is rarely found in any other device. After using the device for couple of hours I found it very useful and better compared to other devices. You do not require buying a costly device if you get this kind of features on cheaper rate. The phone is sold widely for Rs.39,999/-. With wide 5.5” screen you gain a major support on the touch support. Due to the wide front HD Super Amoled screen you get better clarity and much better viewing experience. With new design the phone is equipped with some more enhancement and performance.

For smarpthone it is more important to get performance with features and Galaxy Note 2 offers a comparative support. The design comprises of thin and lightweight model which makes the phone most happening product in the market. One by one I will be able to put a bit highlight on the features and internal support the phone offers you. Many of you might be thinking about the price. But yet after reading the review your can find a relative answer whether to or not to go for the review.

Galaxy Note 2 has a very clean screen. It is not overloaded with tons of widgets and other settings that might make you a bit confusing on usage. It has limited stuff but yet completely customizable. The front screen is dividing mostly in three to four different types. The first is where you can hook widgets and use frequently used applications. You can add up nice bar of media player with decent Google Search bar. The lower part has set of prescribed applications like accessing contacts, messaging and web search. The home screen offers you around 5 different desktop. The app screen is divided into 2 parts. The first is dedicated to App and second is for widget. So that you can instantly tap and hook any on the home screens. The screen offers you to a 4×8 columns to add around 16 apps at a time. Along with the same Galaxy Note 2 offers you a Face Recognition technology which is integrated in Jelly Bean. NFC allows you to share the phone content with similar device just by touching. You just need to touch both the devices and internal content will be share on ease.

Body and Packaging:

Starting with some glimpses of the packaging this phone owns. Just have a look on the same:

•    5.5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a 1280 x 720

•    Front Bottom:  Home Key

•    Front Top: 1.9-megapixel Front Camera, LED light, Call speaker

•    Left: Volume Up and down Key

•    Right: Screen Lock or Power button.

•    Back side: 8 MegaPixel rear camera, Flash Light and Speaker

•    Top: 3.5 Headphone Jack and a mic

•    Bottom: Micro USB port that can also be used as charger.

As you can see above the phone offers you 8MP camera that fits all your photo and video needs. Loaded with internal 16GB memory (10GB user access) you can load or record HD videos instantly. The design is very simply where maximum space is taken by the screen and below a small set of home keys available. This does not make the phone much more complicated. For your video chat you can go with 1.9MP front camera. The phone uses a composite microUSB connector which is a multi-feature connectivity port. It offers you to transfer data and charge phone as well. The port is capable of MHL capabilities. This allows you to output HD video and surround audio on different screen with special Samsung cable only. That cable is not included with the phone. You have to purchase it separately and the cost is around £25. You can simply look for MHL-to-HDMI convertor on web. So here Samsung has properly integrated the use of HDMI port on the single connector instead of adding extra port.

Galaxy Note 2 has a widescreen on the front. 5.5” is quiet large enough to give you a clear view any video or photo. This device is loaded with an optimized version of Android. Samsung always work on its Android edition while other manufacturer simply port it and sell. This makes Samsung devices a better. The Home screen is entirely different and much better this time. With the help of internal 1.6 GHz Quad Core processor you can perform many multi-tasking operations with ease. Along with high end processor the device has 2GB additional RAM also. Jelly Bean is much improved this time, which looks lighter and performance optimized. As mentioned above the internal storage is 16GB and if you need higher you can go for 32GB storage also. The Home Screen is highlighted as one of the important feature of Galaxy Note 2. It gives you instant multiple display, widgets, notification bar and settings menu. Multiple displays here allow you to have more than one app working. You can watch a video or simply play music or bookmark your favorite website.

S-Pen and “Air View”

This makes the device more unique Samsung has done some changes in the stylus also. This is not like just any other stylus in the market. It is called as S-Pen. This pen has an exciting new feature called as Air View. This allows you to work on your device without touching the screen. You just need to keep the pen a bit away from screen and the phone detects the stylus by a small dot on the screen. You can make instant notes and draw paper arts. The pen is optimized to work with S Note, S Planner and mails. So it looks Samsung has provided some of the best optimized applications for Stylus also.

Air View is bit different. You can open gallery, view photos, play video, etc. Air View supports a series of different application in your system. It is perfectly sync with email and messaging type applications. You just need to hover the pen on the screen and done. You can cut a part of image and save it in your phone.

Galaxy Note 2 on the other hand is perfect multimedia device. Loaded with 2 camera and HD video recording support you might forget your digital camera. The camera settings offer you bit advance features compared to any other device in the market. You can capture a 20 continuous best shot of image and choose the best one. You can tag the image or simply share that directly on your favorite website. Performance point of view the device offers you a bit better output. Android phones are always critized for battery performance, but Galaxy Note 2 is much better. Also Samsung has tried it’s best to improve user experience by adding a better handwriting recognition option. You can draw or simply write to save your time. The voice recognition service is not at all better. It lacks better support. But all in this entire phone is best loaded with some of features that are ever known.

Galaxy Note 2 is a powerful Smartphone. With newest Android OS, and optimized features this device act as single solution for multi-media and multi-tasking features. Thje large screen and great touch sensitivity is one of the best features this phone has. If we go for some negative aspects then only thing that comes in my mind is the cost. Galaxy Note 2 is a mixture of tablet and phone features. You can use some of best available application in simpler way. Rich features  allows you to do more stuff. Like thorugh All Share Cast you can simply share the phone content on air. You can watch HD videos and view your images on your favorite display. The phone size is a bit larger to handle. Also the body does not provide you great grip, it is slippery if you do not handle the same with care.
