Creative Woof Micro Wireless Speaker Review

Creative Woof Micro Wireless Speaker Review

Creative Woof is a portable stylish Bluetooth speaker. It has an impressive design that makes it unique in looks. The cost of this speaker is around Rs.2600. After checking out the design and features of this speaker, you will understand that Creative is not really asking too much price. The speaker is amazing and handy. With metallic enclosure, the speaker looks very decent. It has a kind of luxurious look. Everyone will be attracted once you keep and play it on the desk. Creative Woof also has another model called as Creative Woof 2 that brings more triangular shape and louder sound output. The one that we are going to test today is Creative Woof. When I saw it first I was quite impressed by its looks. Most of the Bluetooth speaker comes in plastic enclosure with common connectivity options. Compared to them Creative Woof is something different. The speaker pushes the output from the top side that makes it loud and clear for all.

Volume is high enough to entertain you. Being a portable model, this type of speakers lacks woofer quality. Do not expect much bass on it. It is small and heavy. The weight of the speaker is 255g that means you cannot keep that in your pocket. The features of Creative Woof are not just limited to Bluetooth audio streaming. It is also a speaker phone. It comes with a mic in it, so that you can use it like a portable solution for conference calls. Creative Woof Micro Wireless Speaker is an impressive model with good audio output and if you want something more better than Creative Woof 2 is one to look after. We will be testing this speaker to find out more details about it. After using this for few couple of days, I found this one as a great solution for outdoor and indoor usage both. Due to speaker phone support, you can still use it directly for calling purpose. Bluetooth connectivity makes it simple to use. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack, through which you can use it on your Smartphone, tablet, pc, mp3 players, iPod, etc. Before moving ahead let's have a look on its features and specification.

Package:

Design:

Creative Woof Micro Wireless Speaker is an attractive model. It features a metallic casing that makes it a bit luxurious in look. It has a round shape design. It looks similar to Life Shroom of Mario game. We will be testing the silver edition that has a shiny finish. There are three more colors to choose from. They are Black, Red and Gun Metal. The cost remains same for all colors.

Front body:

The front part of Creative Woof Micro is mostly a curved shaped that holds the metallic enclosure. It is a full round shape speaker with triangular layout. You can see that in the image above. It is a shiny cover that reflects light. It looks amazing due to that. The front side has Creative Woof printed at the front. Just below that there are three keys and microphone. You can use the keys to play/pause and change the songs. And microphone hole is below that.

At the back side there are two ports. One is Micro USB that is only used for charging. When you connect the charger a red led glows which mean it is the battery indicator. And next to the micro usb port there is a 3.65mm audio jack that extends the connectivity. If you are having a device that is not having Bluetooth, you can connect the speaker through 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio port. The specification does not confirm anything about Daisy Chain.

Top:

At the top side lies the Bluetooth pairing and call recieving button. When your Smartphone is connected to the speaker you can press the top button to receive or disconnect the call. In the same way when you hold that for few seconds the blue led on the button keeps on glowing, which means the speaker is in pairing mode. And this one turns to red when there is low battery. Creative Woof only offers you Bluetooth connectivity. I was expecting NFC also on it. Being a costly speaker, this kind of feature can expand the connectivity more. The audio comes out from the top part that spreads quite well in a room. Sound volume on this is quite high. I was surprised to find that this portable speaker has such a high volume.

Bottom:

Power button is placed at the bottom. There is nothing else. The speaker sits well on any surface. You can keep that on your computer desk, or in your car. You can use it for making calls or for music. It works very well. Internal battery helps you to get around 6 hours of non-stop playback. This is enough I think. It is good to charge the speaker to maximum before taking it out. And also metallic body does not mean it is durable. You have to protect it from water.

Performance:

Creative Woof has a really loud sound. At first looks I was expecting this as a regular speaker with flashy design. At maximum the audio quality gets a bit affected. Equalizer and sound effects does not work here. The woofer output is low on this. This affects the overall bass output. Being a portable speaker, bass output is very low on maximum models I had seen. But if you go with the regular sound, you get a crystal clear output and you will surely enjoy all the music and videos. Speaker phone allow you to talk with others. The MIC is able to suppress background noise and send a clean audio so that person on the other end can get clean audio. You have to sit near when you are using speaker phone. Creative Woof is an amazing speaker. With good looks it also brings good sound quality. It is something to show off.  The battery also works well if you use it wisely. Once full charged you can try playing sounds at decent volume so that you can play it for longer period.

Creative Woof has an auto off mode. If you are not using it, the speaker goes to sleep mode automatically that preserves its battery. I am missing NFC in it. That can help us to connect the speaker to some blu-ray players if necessary. Or to Smartphone's or tablet instantly. This will help more in sharing. Pairing mode is fast. At a time a single device can use the speaker and for others to use, you have to put the speaker back on the paring mode by pressing the top Bluetooth button. It is time consuming. NFC is faster and easier. Creative Woof is no doubt a speaker for personal usage. It is a treat for music lovers.

Conclusions:

Creative Woof is a sparkling speaker. It has lots of features that make it a value for money product. Good audio, decent battery, speakerphone and metallic body are its prime features. I would say it costly only if the body was of plastic. But the metallic enclosure simply makes it a premium product. Compared to other speakers, Creative Woof is lot better. With loud audio it can help you to take calls also. It also brings out few control keys through which you can change songs or play/pause it. But it does not have any volume control button on it. You have to rely on the device to manage the volume. Creative Woof is an ideal choice for outdoor and indoor usage both. It is a stylish palm size speaker with cute design.

Pros:

  • Great and Stylish Design
  • Good Audio Volume
  • Decent Battery Backup
  • Speakerphone

Cons:

  • No Volume Control Keys
  • No NFC
