MobieLite G2 is a new version of MobieLite Wireless Media Reader. We had reviewed the old series already. This one brings a lot of new features and great design. The old series looks bit outdated with few things in it. But the new one has a major change in the design and also Kingston has it equipped with battery so that you can charge your Smartphone through rechargeable 4640mah battery. It is not like a regular card reader. The benefit of Kingston MobieLite G2 Wireless Media Reader is that you can get an affordable media streaming and storage solution compared to a high storage usb or external hard drive in which you have to limitation of connectivity. And if you go with wireless portable hard drive, then also you have to pay a high amount. Here we are having a portable device with few good benefits. It is easy to carry and can be handy to use also. Other card readers are basic and do not offer you features that Kingston MobieLite G2 Wireless Media Reader does. The only limitation I found is that it has as single slot to insert a memory card. You can put two types of card in that. First a full size memory card that you can commonly see in digital cameras, and second a microSD card using a full size adapter.
This is the most common one, but still there is some different type of memory card used like Mini SD card. There is no option to use that. The size of Kingston MobieLite G2 Wireless Media Reader is big enough to add a bit different slots on the circuit. Even a dedicated slot of MicroSD card will also help. In case you lose the adapter then you can insert the same directly. Kingston MobieLite G2 Wireless Media Reader is a smart card reader with charging capabilities. And the usage is more extended due to a usb support and it can act as a bridge for internet connection. It has Ethernet port, you can use this devices as portable wifi router also or you can just use your USB 3G dongle on that. You can also connect a pen drive to the device and stream its content through wifi. All you have to do is use a MobileLite app on your android or iOS device. The same app is also available for Amazon devices. The cost of Kingston MobieLite G2 Wireless Media Reader comes around Rs.4500. It might look like a costly device, but if you need a simple wireless streaming solution with integrated power bank then it can help.
