Game Story:
The Witcher 2: Kings of Assassins is a direct sequel to the original, so that the protagonist Gearalt of Rivia never be the main character of the second part in a script that its creators and advance as much darker, mature and adult. The second installment in the RPG saga about the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, features a thoroughly engrossing, mature storyline defining new standards for thought-provoking, non-linear game narration. A new, modern game engine, responsible both for beautiful visuals and sophisticated game mechanics puts players in the most lively and believable world ever created in an RPG game. A captivating story, dynamic combat system, beautiful graphics, and everything else that made the original Witcher such a great game are now executed in a much more advanced and sophisticated way.

Unusually in the context of an RPG Western Witcher put us in the boots of a hero predefined. In fact the title was based on the series of novels and short stories of Andrzej Sapkowski and featured the main character in this saga: Geralt of Riv, a Witcher over trained using brute force as well as magic to hunt monsters . The guy was not in his best shape at the beginning of The Witcher, and was even struck by amnesia is useful for players who do not necessarily know the background related to the work of Andrzej Sapkowski. The Hero:
You are a mutant, my friend, the faster you come to terms with this truth, the better it will be for you. You will quickly learn to take what is offered and disappear when your presence is no longer desired. You are without question, unique. Yet this is exactly the factor that puts you in the same precarious position as non-humans who tend to find themselves impaled or hanging from nearby trees. For it is their simple existence that triggers the resentment, animosity, and hatred from common folk – any pretext is a good pretext to show them their proper place. How is it then that Witchers, while equally non-human and different to common people, do not share the fate of these poor devils? The answer to this is twofold.

First, there are relatively few Witchers that still walk this earth. Statistically speaking, therefore, you are far more likely to encounter an elf than a Witcher, such as yourself. And second, you possess a couple of rather forceful arguments: a solid sword and a simple set of life rules.

The presentation was made that we focused on the first chapter of the game we find that good old Geralt boarded a boat up the river to reach Flotsam Pontare, a town between the kingdoms of Aedrin and Temeria. The first trip between the landing and the famous town is not easy: you’ll even be greeted with a nice volley of arrows distributed by a committee of elves unsympathetic. Fortunately, you can count on Triss, the beautiful enchantress already present in the first game, to invoke a protective bubble around your group.

This effort will let the lady still rather helpless against the elves who try to make you feel their swords. This mouthing muscular gave us an opportunity to take a look at the new combat system. You can forget a little stiff fighting based largely on the timing of your attacks the first episode, the fighting win by more dynamic without becoming less strategic. You are simply freer in your movements and your combos, you can eg now-cons attack directly after blocking a shot or you easily slip behind enemy to turn back. Geralt always combines magic and physical attacks to defeat his enemies: it can for example cast a spell on the ground that will trap the poor who will go there and take this fellow to bypass the immobilizer then to give him a major blow to sword in the back.

The blades you carry are your lifelines. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that your ability to wield them appropriately when dealing damage to your adversaries makes each and every of your challengers re-assess their life-chances twice before engaging in combat with you. However, your superior fighting abilities have not made you arrogant. You do not simply revert to force when no such reversion is needed. When there is still a possibility of conflict resolution – even using extreme measures – you do not tempt fate and wish yourself a shorter life; instead you sheath your sword. Yet make no mistake, you will be unrelenting and without remorse once the decision to engage has come. Ultimately, however, you are no saint and you do not care to save the world – you simply want to survive, whilst remaining true to your profession.

Arriving in Flotsam another surprise in store for us: the informant that they were supposed to meet in this town was just about to be hanged in the public square. The player is always free to do as it seems: it can for example choose to use strong and go directly off the poor condemned or otherwise play with his charisma and try to release it into compliance on the public order. Such an alternative also returns in the dialogue: the way you respond to your audience really affect the course of the adventure.

Note in passing that in some cases these choices dialogues will be time limited. The various possibilities will be offered will never truly Manichean in the manner of a Mass Effect, it is always fine choices that can affect long-term adventure. Indeed the entire population of the countries visited will react differently to you depending on your feats or your past positions. In the case of public performance of Flotsam, for example you can play on the discontent of onlookers against the manifest injustice of the authorities. In this case you will make the same token the sympathy of the inhabitants of the city you will more easily help in following your adventure.

Gameplay Video:

Another novelty in size appeared in The Witcher 2: now you stroll a totally open. It is noted in passing that the load time constant that drape the entrance in each building are gone, but it is certainly possible to jump the barriers that most fans will mark the first game: Your exploration will never be bounded by simple small barriers. Specifically, if you can browse freely in every corner of this universe, it is still advisable to go exploring headlong. Indeed, the monsters are not all the same power and it is not advisable to rub a creature whose strength is far superior to yours.

Fortunately, it is now possible to ask a friend to follow you to lend a hand. The latter has to accompany you and help you in combat without having to give orders. The choice of the person who will fight alongside you nonetheless important because it allows you to improve your relationship with it and even to attend optional sympathetic scenes. Thus, in calling Triss to follow in the old growth forest that borders Flotsam, Geralt will have a further opportunity to explore the intimacy of the beautiful enchantress … Our Witcher is indeed remained an inveterate womanizer.

The presentation ended with a rather impressive battle will obviously close the first chapter of the adventure: Geralt was faced with a huge boss on Tentadrake that it had already been seen in the trailers of the game It ‘acts more or less a huge octopus terrestrial uses its tentacles to launch powerful attacks. To defeat it, the simplest technique seems to have the magical traps on the ground to stop these dangerous appendages to have time to cut them one by one. Once the monster is sufficiently weakened, you will be able to finish through a QTE doing a collapsing stone bridge on the corner of her nose.

Finally, trying to take over the visuals, we should make it clear that The Witcher 2 will use a new visual engine. The video accompanying the article is six months old, which serves as a clear way to realize the advances of video game visuals, but we must bear in mind that from here until the time they are put up for sale we will see a video game much more advanced in terms of graphics and technology.

CD Project developers do not deny this appearance of contextual actions is largely due to the fact that the game was designed from the outset as a multi-platform title, which must also adapt to the requirements of the consoles that ‘to those of PC. Do not mean throwing out the baby with the bathwater, PC gamers who do not necessarily appreciate this kind of process will also be able to overcome this boss by indirect means that will spare their feelings immersion.

The Witcher 2 definitely something for everyone: the next baby CD Project has not only appeared graphically impressive, but it will also propose a dynamic combat system really attractive and obviously respects the rich and mature universe that made the success of its elder. Moreover the decision will have a central importance in the game, is that unlike other titles in the genre will never entirely clear whether what we do is right or wrong. The consequences of our acts will again be unpredictable, in a much more adult and more “gray” that might hold other RPGs like Fable or Fallout 3.
