Cyclops is a Max object for analyzing and tracking live video. Through a simple interface, Cyclops can track performers and users with a video camera and analyze greyscale and color information from the live image. The resulting data can used to generate control MIDI, audio and video in Max. Typical applications include tracking dancers or other performers on a stage, interacting with users in interactive installations, and creating video-tracking musical instruments and performance interfaces.
Cyclops detects the performer’s hands or body in five areas of the screen. Each area triggers notes at a different tempo from one of five different sampled drum kits.
