Best Entry Level Android Smartphone below Rs.10,000

Best Entry Level Android Smartphone below Rs.10,000

Entry Level Smartphone comes in affordable range of everyone. Not so great, but reasonable devices providing more than calling. There are various benefits of choosing an entry level android phone. You get an app access where you can run many new things. Devices in this article are targeted on the basis of hardware configuration. Not on the basis of price. Beginning with the cheapest one Karbonn A1+ which comes for Rs.3,625 it offers you a decent screen and long lasting device. Via Google Play you have additional app access like a better contact manager, good notification panel, smooth interface, chatting apps, etc. While on a regular mobile phone you can’t do any of those.

ENTRY LEVEL SMARTPHONE : Between Price Range of Rs. 3,500 to Rs.10,000

1. Karbonn A1+

  • OS:- Gingerbread 2.3
  • CPU:- 1Ghz
  • GPU:- No GPU
  • RAM:- 256MB
  • Storage:-  165 MB
  • Display:-  3.5 Inch
  • Camera:- 3MP Back Camera only
  • SIM:- Dual
  • Battery:- 1500mAh
  • Price:- Rs.3,625

This one is the cheapest android phone. The phone offers you a reasonable hardware configuration at a price of Rs.3,625. Having a 1Ghz processor at that price range is not bad enough. And in terms of storage also it lacks enough space. But if you are just looking for a mobile phone only and that too with android support then you can go for this. Instead of buying a regular phone with limited features, you  have a taste of Android Gingerbread on Karbonn A1+. Powered by 1Ghz processor and 125MB of ram it goes with regular mobile functions. While for using applications and games it is not useful. What can you expect at 125MB of ram. You can make calls, use some tiny applications from Google Play, check your emails, etc. Due to 1Ghz processor, multi-tasking is bit possible. But not for multiple apps. Like you can simply sync your emails, on the phone through Gmail or any other mail app. The tiny 3.5inch screen is clear enough to checkout some web pages and videos.

2. Karbonn A2+

  • OS:- Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0
  • CPU:- 1Ghz
  • GPU:- No GPU
  • RAM:- 256MB
  • Storage:-  165 MB
  • Display:-  3.5 Inch
  • Camera:- 3MP Back Camera only
  • SIM:- Dual
  • Battery:- 1750mAh
  • Price:- Rs.4,590

This is another great budget phone. It has great output but somehow I am not happy with the body element. It looks like cheap plastic that makes it a bit dull in look. Powered by 1Ghz GPU and 256MB of ram you get better performance output here compare to Karbonn A1+ which has only 125MB of Ram. The more physical memory means bit more performance power. It has same processor which is used in the older device. The battery output is more increased here. Instead of 1500mAh battery it goes to 1750mAh that adds more hours to the phones output. The phone is an ideal choice for new users only. If you had already used a mid range of high end phone then you will surely hate the device. As I said almost all entry level phones comes with limited features only. 3.5inch screen on the top is bright enough offering proper visibility. This would be one of the cheapest devices in the market offering you Ice Cream Sandwich OS. If it has Gingerbread then surely the performance would be greater. Due to a bit high ram over A1+ you can take more work from this device.

3. Micromax Ninja A89

  • OS:- Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0
  • CPU:- 1Ghz
  • GPU:- No GPU
  • RAM:- 512MB
  • Storage:-  2.07GB
  • Display:-  3.97 Inch
  • Camera:- 3MP Back Camera only
  • SIM:- Dual
  • Battery:- 1450mAh
  • Price:- Rs.6,470

Micromax Ninja A89 has everything which is needed in a budget android phone. It lies at a price which is not very cheap and not very costly. The phone comes with ICS, which already gives you the new interface and more application support. 1Ghz processor and 512MB ram gives more power in terms of multi-tasking. You can chat on multiple applications at the same time, watch videos, surf web, and install games like Angry Bird. The 3.97inch screen is enough vibrant for giving a clear web page readability. While for camera almost all budget phones comes with traditional 3MP offering a maximum 640×840 image resolution. Photos are great when you use it in light. Compare too many budget phones in the market this one is the best according to me. I had seen ample of positive review on that. I will term it as a good entry level device.

Instead of regular 1Ghz processor, Micromax has added a Dual Core 1Ghz cpu on it. That makes ICS to perform really well. Now the thing which I did not like on this device is the audio output. The screen touch is smooth and fast responsive. As I said it lacks a good multimedia feature. The audio output is not so great while watching videos on 3.97inch screen is average. In terms of entry level I am happy with the feature its offer. It is a straight forward device for entry level users with all features you are looking for. If you are looking to gift a good mobile phone to anyone them you can go for this.

4. Xolo A500

  • OS:- Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0
  • CPU:- 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
  • GPU:- No GPU
  • RAM:- 512MB
  • Storage:-  4GB
  • Display:- 4 Inch
  • Camera:- 0.3MP Front and 5MP Back Camera.
  • SIM:- Dual
  • Battery:- 1500mAh
  • Price:- Rs.6,499

Now as you can see the more we move ahead the more hardware configuration improves. Compare to Micromax Ninja A89, Xolo gives you a better processor, dual camera and more battery output. That also just at Rs.29 more. You just get a QUALCOMM Snapdragon processor which is good for multitasking and while the ram remains the same. About the internal storage it is mentioned as 4GB. But not all is available for usage. You will get something around 2GB. Xolo A500 is good in terms of battery performance. And it gives you a 003MP front camera. This is useless according to me. Atleast you can make video call here without turning the phone to backside. The camera output is great in outdoor while it is extreme dark in indoors. There is no great difference between Micromax Ninja A89 and Xolo A500. Just the camera and battery. So if you are looking for more battery capacity then you go with Xolo here or else Ninja is already termed a good budget phone.

5. Karbonn A21

  • OS:- Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0
  • CPU:- 1 GHz
  • GPU:- No GPU
  • RAM:- 256MB
  • Storage:-  2.57GB
  • Display:- 4.5 Inch
  • Camera:- 1.3MP Front and 5MP Back Camera.
  • SIM:- Dual
  • Battery:- 1800mAh
  • Price:- Rs.6,999

Karbonn A21 is a mixture of performance and look. The only negative aspect of this device is low RAM. While on Android if RAM is low the obviously the performance will be affected. With just 256MB of ram even after being having a 1Ghz processor you cannot play standard games. Compare to other devices this one gives you larger screen size with better dual camera. A 1.3 camera lies on the front side with decent video output for video chatting, while 5MP back helps you to capture more good photos. Bigger battery is added advantage here. Here you get more battery time to use the phone. It is essential that you do not use un-necessary applications which take regular updates from web. That would affect the battery output. The phone features a bar shaped thin design which looks impressive. The reason to recommend this phone is its look. While if you are not expecting more from multimedia and gaming then this phone is right choice for you.

6. Samsung Galaxy Duo Y

  • OS:- Gingerbread 2.3
  • CPU:- 832 MHz
  • GPU:- No GPU
  • RAM:- 384MB
  • Storage:-  160MB
  • Display:- 3.14 Inch
  • Camera:-  3MP Back Camera.
  • SIM:- Dual
  • Battery:- 1300mAh
  • Price:- Rs.7,960

Galaxy Duo Y is one of the best branded budget phones in the market. Offering you an 832Mhz processor does not means it is low on performance. The phone is best for running various apps and even for gaming. The benefit of using Samsung is that you get an optimized version of Android operating system. That means it is not just the same stock rom. The touch interface is great and camera quality is also proper in light. Loaded with 1300mAh battery is disappointing. Also compare to other devices this one is best for rooting purpose. If you are Android freak and loves to install different rom, then go for Duo Y. It has more than 6 different custom rom available on the web. The phone delivers great performance on regular Gingerbread OS. An ideal entry level phone for everyone. The cost also  lies in the budget giving out a trusted devices compare to the other one. The hardware used in Duo Y is better and reliable than others.

7. Sony Xperia E

  • OS:- Jellybean 4.1
  • CPU:- 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
  • GPU:- No GPU
  • RAM:- 512MB
  • Storage:-  4GB
  • Display:- 3.5 Inch
  • Camera:-  3.2MP Back Camera.
  • SIM:- Single
  • Battery:- 1530mAh
  • Price:- Rs.8,880

Many count Sony Xperia E under mid range mobile phone. But I will prefer to keep this under Entry Level. The reason lies with the performance. This device comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. But officially this device got Android 4.1 Jellybean Update. You can watch that in below video. The process is simple. The phone even after having a 1Ghz processor is bit low on performance. Freezing is common issue. But after Jellybean update the output is greatly increased. The phone features great body design. It is durable and stylish. The second video from below gives you a short video review of Xperia E, where I had shown the performance, multimedia and gaming output also. That will help you to understand the device more. As per the features and hardware configuration I found the device bit costlier. But somehow this device is great for those who are looking for better design.

Sony Xperia E Android Smartphone Text Review

Final Words :

So as you can see the list of all entry level phones that comes below Rs.8,000. As per the specification compared I will recommend Micromax Ninja  A89. This would be a best among all. The device is good in performance, battery output and the screen size is also reasonable enough. The price lies around Rs.6,450. While if you are looking for an extremely cheap device then going for the second one Karbonn Smart A2+ is well and good. It offers you  a new updated android OS with more better processing power. While if you ready to invest around Rs.8,000 and happy to adopt an older version of android then Galaxy Duo Y only comes in my mind. Loaded with smooth interface is one of the prime features of these devices. No other device  here offers you an optimized android os and better multi-tasking. But as it comes with Gingerbread only you have to work on an outdated UI.
