How to use WD MyPassport Wireless 1TB as a Internet Sharing device

WD My Passport Wireless 1TB is not just a wireless hard drive. it comes with a smart feature through which you can share your internet connection with other devices making WD My Passport Wireless 1TB as a hub. Sometime it happens that your router is having some issue or limitation. Or you do not want to share your wifi details with others. You can create a temporary wifi network through WD My Passport Wireless 1TB and allow others to use internet. Once they have done you can then reset the settings or just turn off the hard drive. Making a small hotspot through WD My Passport Wireless 1TB is quiet easy. To make this you have to connect WD My Passport Wireless 1TB to your router. We will be using MyCloud App for the same. It can be also be done through the web access panel, but WD MyCloud is more simple.

Launch WD MyCloud App. At the top right side you can see three dots. Tap on that to open the settings menu. From there tap on My Passport Settings.

One done you have to tap on Connection Settings. There you can find three options. Direct, Hotspot and Home Network.

Tap on Hotspot to create a small hotspot or bridge a connection through router. You have to then provide the password on the same and then tap on connect. In the same way you can tap on Home Network and create a shared storage which will be accessible through Windows LAN.
