Fujitsu introduces Check Scanning Capabilities for QuickBooks 2010

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., the market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today announced that Intuit Inc. will offer the company’s award-winning Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 scanning solution to be used with Intuit Check Solution for QuickBooks, an add-on check processing service for QuickBooks 2010. Together, these solutions provide small businesses with an efficient way to scan paper checks into QuickBooks 2010 so they can skip the bank lines and start depositing checks electronically. The Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 gives customers a cost-effective, flexible check scanning solution designed to work with Intuit Check Solution for QuickBooks.

"Fujitsu and Intuit are making it easier than ever for small businesses to scan checks and securely deposit them to the bank online – when it’s convenient for them," said Scott Francis, vice president of marketing, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "Through this integrated offering, users can simply drop their paper checks into the ScanSnap S300, electronically capture the information for verification, and then automatically route the data into QuickBooks for check deposit into their bank account online."

Paperless deposits, or Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), became possible with the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act – known as Check 21 – in 2004. Remote Deposit Capture, in simple terms, is a service allowing users to scan checks and transmit the scanned images and/or Automated Clearing House (ACH) data to a bank for posting and clearing. The Fujitsu and Intuit check scanning solutions are fully compliant with Remote Deposit Capture rules and regulations.

While the Fujitsu ScanSnap S300 takes pride in its ability to scan checks, its advanced features and functionality give customers the added benefit of a complete desktop scanning solution for paper documents, receipts, bills, invoices and business cards anywhere they go. The ScanSnap S300 is small enough to fit in a briefcase or laptop bag, making it a great productivity tool for business professionals.

The ScanSnap S300 offers the fastest "one-touch" conversion of paper documents into searchable Adobe® portable document format (PDF) files available today in the mobile scanning industry. Users simply load a stack of up to 10 documents into the ADF and press the "SCAN" button to produce searchable PDF files at speeds of up to 8 pages per minute (ppm) for single-sided documents and 16 images per minute (ipm) for double-sided documents. The ScanSnap S300 scanner can be powered from a USB connection on a PC, allowing users to scan their documents and business cards anywhere they go. The ScanSnap S300 is also equipped with innovative features such as double-sided color scanning, automatic blank-page detection and deletion, skew correction and paper-size detection to easily help users go paperless, store valuable paper documents, or simply get rid of clutter.
