Motorola Expands LTE Solution With New, Frame-Based eNodeB

The Home & Networks Mobility business of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced the addition of the Wireless Broadband Radio (WBR) 500 series frame-based eNodeB to its LTE portfolio. The WBR 500 frame-based series complements the WBR 500 remote RF-based eNodeB series introduced earlier this year. As part of Motorola’s complete LTE solution, the Motorola WBR 500 series LTE Macro eNodeB delivers on the promise of LTE with exceptional coverage and capacity performance, even in the most challenging RF environments.

Motorola’s WBR 500 series is an LTE standards-based solution built using Motorola’s fully programmable FLeX Modem technology. The WBR 500 series can be deployed in both new and existing GSM, UMTS, HSPA, CDMA, or TD-SCDMA cell sites, and will support Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) or Time Division Duplex (TDD). It will be available in a range of frequencies from 700MHz to 2.6GHz with bandwidths from 1.4 MHz to 20MHz.

The environmentally conscious WBR 500 series is designed to deliver superior power efficiency through advanced amplifier technologies to give operators a solution that saves energy use and trims operating expenses.
