Contest promises to be a treat for amateur short film makers
TATA DOCOMO announced the launch of an exciting Mini-Movie Contest along with Shamiana – The Short Film Club. Founded by Cyrus Dastur, Shamiana is India’s fastestgrowing short film club, passionate about showcasing the finest ‘shorts’ from the country and across theworld.TATA DOCOMO Mini-Movie Contest will be mentored by Kunal Deshmukh, the young Bollywood film director, Tom Alter, a very well-known theatre and cinema actor, Abdul Khan, Head-TATA DOCOMO Marketing, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited, Nandana Sen, the petite Bollywood actress and Cyrus Dastur, a theatre personality and the founder of Shamiana.
The categories are:
1. The Best Short Film
2. The Best Movie Shot with a mobile phone, and
3. The Director’s Favourite
The winner gets to work as the ACD with Kunal Deshmukh on his next venture. Speaking on TATA DOCOMO’s association with Shamiana, Mr. Abdul Khan, Head-TATA DOCOMO Marketing and Advisor to the MD, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited said, “TATA DOCOMO inspires people ‘To Do’. Speaking on the occasion Tom Alter said, “It’s a pleasure to be a part of this Mini-movie contest organised by TATA DOCOMO & SHAMIANA. They are both pioneers in their respective fields and now provide this great opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to prove their mettle. More power to such initiatives.” Commenting about his role as a mentor, Kunal Deshmukh, the young Bollywood director, said, “Short films are all about that’s pure and untainted in cinema, it’s the way a young film maker discovers his or her
