XStreamHD chose to implement the remote control for its HD Media Receivers using ZigBee PRO, in order to meet current needs and provide for future developments*. By adopting RF in addition to IR for the remote control, the XStreamHD Media Receiver can be located out of the line-of-sight without impacting performance. Jennic’s technology was instrumental in achieving this, thanks to the ultra low power operation of the JN5148 and the extensive software available for the device, including the ZigBee PRO communications stack. This allows consumers to keep their HD Media Receivers out-of-site in the home without compromising the ability to interact with their XStreamHD system.
