In the first half of 2010, AMD plans to move in a decisive attack on
the mobile front, presenting a new platform Danube. This platform will
represent the union of two quad-core processors and the
RS880M chipset with integrated graphics core supporting DirectX 10.1
technology and already used in the platform Tigris.
In addition, the platform Danube will be available with the latest
discrete graphics cards AMD, equipped with technology to support
DirectX 11 and executed on the basis of 40 nm chips Broadway, Madison
and Park. Note also that in the Danube platform will include the first
mobile AMD processors with four cores, which probably will allow it to
compete with Intel.
For
the mobile platform AMD Danube preparing 12 new processors. Nine of
them were architecture K10 and another three (two models and one
Athlon chip V120) are made based on the architecture of K8. At the top
of the line are processors Phenom II X920 BE and Phenom II X620 BE with
a frequency of 2.3 GHz and 3.1 GHz, respectively, and a TDP of 45
watts. In general, the clock speeds of new mobile AMD processors
ranging from 1.6 GHz to 3.1 GHz.
