Yahoo will close down MyBloglog

Since its arrival at the head of Internet portal Yahoo, Carol Bartz reduced endless production costs and farmed more and more web services. Over the months the company has given up on different products such as Yahoo! Kickstart, Yahoo! Live, MyWeb, Yahoo! GeoCities, Yahoo! 360, Yahoo! Briefcase or the mobile application Yahoo! Go. The CEO also hopes to refocus on core products of the brand including Yahoo! Mail leader in its market or Yahoo! Messenger which is very popular in the United States. The intentions of the portal in the field of research for their shares remain relatively unclear.

The latest rumors point to date MyBlogLog, A company founded in January 2005 and acquired two years later by Yahoo. MyBloglog allows both to create a profile by centralizing its various streams on the web, enroll in different communities, but also add a little widget with the latest Internet users who visit its Web site or blog. For many, MyBlogLog would also strongly influenced the development of widgets for Google Friend Connect.

On one of its official blogs, Yahoo! explains no decision has been made regarding the future of MyBlogLog and recognizes that a permanent closure of the service is an option currently under consideration.
