Acer recently announced the launch of new notebooks based on AMD processors that was announced a day before.
Acer Aspire V5
To start, Acer launches new Aspire V5, available in three sizes, with or without touch screen:
Aspire V5-122P has a touch screen of 11.6 inches with a HD resolution (1366 x 768 pixels). It features an AMD APU A4 Temash (Intel Celeron equivalent) and a hard disk with a capacity of 500 GB. It is 21 mm thick and 1.38 kg.
Aspire V5-452 and V5-552 have about them an HD screen of 14 or 15.6 inch touch option. They have a AMD A6 APU Temash (Intel Pentium equivalent) and a dedicated AMD Radeon HD 8750M GPU, together with a maximum of 1TB of storage but also a DVD burner. They are 21 mm thick and about 2 kg in weight.
The new Aspire V5 are marketed at the end of May. The 11.6-inch model is available from 400 euros, the price of other models was not provided.
Acer Aspire E1
The manufacturer also launches Aspire E1 laptops.
They feature non-touch screens of 14 or 15.6 inches with 1366 x 768 pixels. They house a APU AMD E1 Kabini or A4 Temash and a dedicated AMD Radeon HD 8670M GPU as configurations. On these thicker computers (25 mm for 2.1 to 2.4 kg), it is up to 1TB hard drive, but also a DVD burner, which is rare on laptop.
