Android Device Manager app to locate lost Android Phone announced by Google

Google has just announced the next Android Device Manager app, a manager for Android devices to find a lost device. The service will be offered in the month of August.

If iOS users could rely on Find My Phone to search for a lost device – or stolen, now owners of an Android device will also have a similar service offered by Google. An app in the coming weeks called Android Device Manager will be released by Google.

The service will allow mobile users to manage the list of devices online, which will, in turn, be equipped with an application. If lost or stolen, the user can connect to the platform from his computer. There his smartphone will be ringing continously – even if the sound has been muted.

If it appears that the device is unrecoverable, the rightful owner may initiate to erase all content. A good way to protect their privacy and to prevent a theft from using certain paid services from a phone that does not belong to anyone.

Google did not give a specific date for the deployment of Android Device Manager, which will be available by the end of the month.
