Open World Next-gen Hitman game in the works for PS4, Xbox One and PC

The developer IO Interactive has shared information about the next installment of Hitman game coming to PC and new consoles from Microsoft and Sony. New contracts of Agent 47 will open world.

Revealed earlier this month by publisher Square Enix, the next installment in the Hitman series will be developed on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The title will be developed by the studio IO Interactive, highlighting the new missions of Agent 47 again.

The developer has recently released an open letter on the official website of the series, communicating some information about this next installment. We learn that it will be open world oriented and present a level much less linear than in the past design.

Also, it will count on the presence of checkpoints during a mission to lead the production to a "sandbox" in which freedom is the center of attention.

"Our goal is to create living, breathing and credible levels that allow players to interact with artificial intelligence to create these unique moments that all fans of the Hitman franchise love," said the studio.

IO Interactive has also told that this next installment of Hitman operate the Glacier 2 graphics engine and incorporate a Contract mode (like Hitman Absolution). Finally, the "magic pockets" – criticized by purists of the series – will be removed in this release.
