Kyocera DuraForce Ultra-Durable 4G/LTE smartphone launched by U.S. Cellular

Japanese brand Kyocera has an Android smartphone designed for lovers of outdoor activities.

Called DuraForce, this smartphone has indeed a shock-resistant shell and a treaty screen against scratches, but it is also a waterproof design for resistance to immersion up to one meter deep for 30 minutes. MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certifications are there to remind it.

Coming with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, this smartphone offers a 4.5-inch IPS screen in 720p definition and stereo audio rendering, compatibility of 4G/LTE Category 4 with data rates (up to 50 Mbit/s shipment and up to 150 Mbit/s down), connections of Wi-Fi-AC/GPS/Bluetooth 4.0/NFC, camera capture of 8 megapixel and 2 megapixel for selfies. Data will be stored in a flash memory of 16 GB. A MicroSD slot will expand the capacity to 32 GB.

Under the hood, finally, there is a SoC Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with 1.4 GHz and 2 GB of RAM and a 3100 mAh battery providing up to 17 hours talk time and 500 hours standby.

The Kyocera DuraForce smartphone is currently presented as exclusive to some operators in the US, with a price of $50 as part of a subscription.
