Verbatim is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a new product line of thin USB portable hard drives at CES. The series consists of four different USB powered drives including the Titan XS, CLON, MyClone and InSight. The Titan XS is the smallest of the USB hard drives and is equipped with a rubber enclosure and internal anti-shock mechanism to help guard the data during impact. It’s planned for release in the beginning of February this year and will be available in 320, 500 and 640GB storage capacities.
CLON is designed to be pocked sized and light at about 4.8oz; it’s also rugged and should be resistant to fingerprints, scuffs and shocks. Automated backup software is already installed. CLON is currently available and provides 250, 320, 500 or 640GB versions to choose from.
With MyClose users receive a palm-sized hard drive with pre-loaded backup software and USB Turbo Speed for better-than-usual speed over USB 2.0. It will be released in 250, 320, 500 and 640GB storage capacities that are available in a black, or 320 and 500GB versions which come in red or blue.
InSight is last in the line of new portable USB hard drives and features an integrated LCD display that can permanently show a personalized name, even while disconnected from the computer. Also displayed is the amount of free space on the hard drive which is automatically calculated. Software included enables full system backup or restore functions as well as optional password protection. InSight comes in 320 and 500GB models.
