Acer unveiled its five new phones at Mobile World Congress 2010

Acer a leading brand in PC industry has generated buzz in an already
vibrant and price competitive cell phone industry with the introduction
of 5 new mobile phones at Mobile World Congress 2010 (MWC) in
Barcelona. The 5 new models showcased were Liquid e, Windows Mobile
6.5.3 NeoTouch P300 and P400, beTouch E110, beTouch E400 and beTouch
E111.

In addition to this Acer has also announced a Ferrari Smartphone based
on Android 2.1 which would be launched in March 2010. With this product
portfolio Acer is all set to extend its range with handsets that
feature the latest technology in market and is thus widening its scope
of operations. Industry experts fear that this would add fuel to the
fire in the form of crowding the existing space of handsets. The consumers in turn should be happy because they
would get the best quality and service at the lowest price. 

One of the latest in line of Acer’s smart phone series is the Liquid e.
The earlier model Android 1.6 smart phones liquid was launched in last
quarter of 2009. The new Liquid e series from Acer has a novel look and
has dimensions as 115 x 64 x 13 and weighs about 135 g. This handset of
Acer works on a Qualcomm processor with a clock speed of 768 megahertz
and is supported by 512 MB of ROM and 256 MB of RAM.

Acer’s Liquid e has a touch screen measuring 3.5 inches and can display
up to 16.7 million colors. The handset comes along with a high
resolution 5 MP camera and autofocus. In addition there are features
like 3.5 mm audio jack, WiFi or Edge and UMTS in variants, a mini USB
port and not to forget Bluetooth, Micro SD card slot with up to 32 GB
storage capacity. It has an average battery support in the form of
lithium-polymer battery supports calls up to five hours and up to 17
days standby time.

Acer’s Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Neo Touch P300 and P400 offers a complete
round of application ranging from Mails to Microsoft exchange server
support and Microsoft office mobile applications. This phone also runs
of Qualcomm processor and has a 3.2 inch high-definition touch screen.
It includes a windows media player 10 and a dedicated you tube
application as well as 3G. The only difference between P300 and P400 is
that the former has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a slightly slower
processor. Nothing has been revealed on the pricing front yet.

Acer’s Be Touch E400 and Be Touch E110 models run Android with the
processor speed as the main difference as compared to Liquid e and some
of the features being new 2.1 software, a 3.2 inch WVGA touch screen
and 3.2 MP camera and a 600 Megahertz Qualcomm processor. The E111 is a
lower end device with the Android 1.5 OS, a 2.8-inch touch screen, and
a 416MHz ST Ericsson processor.

And finally lets talk of a very important point, estimated market price
of Liquid E is around $500, E400 at $300 and E110 at $200.
