3G services now from Manglore and Udupi by BSNL

Now it was the turn of Mangalore and Udupi cities to receive the gift of 3G services from the stable of BSNL. After recently launching these services in the state of Andhra Pradesh, BSNL has bestowed another district Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka with 3G GSM mobile voice and data services.

The announcement came from Mr. S. Raghavan (Karnataka Telecom Circle Chief General Manager) on Saturday. MLA U T Khader, Karnataka Bank Chairman and Managing Director Jayaram Bhat, MLA Yogish Bhat, Principal General Manager Y C Mishra, GM (Mobile) R Mani were also present on the occasion.  

He said that the 3G services will facilitate the subscribers with attractions like video streaming, video calling and internet at a lightening fast speed of 3.6 Mbps. Cities like Bykampady, Mangalore, Udipi, Ullal, Deralakatte and Surathkal will be the first beneficiary cities in the state and BSNL will expand this network in other cities as well in various steps. The next two months will witness the start of 3G services in 32 more cities ofKarnataka state after which the present 3000 towers will touch a double figure. Moreover, plans are to dedicate separate 1000 towers to impart 3G services only. An investment of Rs.900 Crore is set for the development of 3G in the wholeKarnataka.

All these officials commented on the advantages and future advancements that the 3G services will bring in the state with the inception. Also information regarding the charges and Value added services were shared with all on this occasion.
