Eternal Storms Software has announced the immediate availability of EPSQuickLookPlugIn for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and later. EPSQuickLookPlugIn is a plugin for Mac OS X 10.5’s QuickLook technology to view Encapsulated PostScript files.
This new version adds support for PostScript, hpgl and (most) Adobe Illustrator files and fixes a minor bug. also ensures compatibility with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Apple’s QuickLook technology makes it possible to view contents of files without having to launch the according application. EPSQuickLookPlugin extends this functionality by adding support for EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) and, in its most recent version, PostScript, hpgl (DIN A4) and (most) Adobe Illustrator files. EPSQuickLookPlugIn adds support for PostScript and most Adobe Illustrator files.
"EPS files are not supported in Mac OS X 10.5", said Matthias Gansrigler of Eternal Storms Software. "Granted, in Snow Leopard, Apple has added .eps support. But we’ve found that EPSQuickLookPlugIn is a little faster and it also supports PostScript, Hewlett Packard Graphics Language in DIN A4 and Adobe Illustrator files."
