Novell takes charge in India

NOVELL is assuming control of its partner in an Indian joint venture. The partner in question is Linux specialist Onward Novell Software, bought for an undisclosed sum.
The once ubiquitous networking company says the purchase reflects its ‘commitment to Linux’.

“As a result, Novell will be able to better serve its Indian customers, while simultaneously enhancing its existing development and technical support operations in the region,” the company said.

Novell has just reported Q3 earnings down to $1.9 from $23.9 the same quarter last year. It says performance has been damaged by restructuring charges and sluggish software sales.
