The Motorola Solutions business of Motorola, Inc. announced today that it was named a 2010 Tech Innovator by Everything Channel’s CRN. Everything Channel’s exclusive 8th annual Tech Innovator listing celebrates technology vendors that have introduced new solutions to drive advances throughout the technology channel. These companies implemented innovative methods to bridge the gap between current problems and solutions facing channel executives today.
Motorola Solutions was named a Tech Innovator Award winner in the handheld category for the ES400 enterprise mobile computer. The ES400’s integrated voice and data capabilities unleash the full potential of mobile professionals by empowering them with the information and interaction they need to transform operations, increase enterprise profitability and complete their jobs anywhere, anytime. By offering four devices in one – cell phone, computer, scanner and GPS – enterprise workers not only receive information but have access to business applications and the tools to take action immediately, turning informed workers into empowered workers.
Advanced features of the ES400 include true worldwide communications with user-selectable 3.5G WAN GSM HSPA and CDMA EVDO RevA compatibility as well as push-to-talk capabilities. The ES400 also includes the unique Motorola Enterprise User Interface (MEUI), offering users features like one-touch access to virtually any application, a condensed “At-a-Glance” home screen and a sensor that can detect when a user enters a quiet area and instantly adjust and reduce the volume.
“Motorola Solutions is honored to be recognized as a 2010 Tech Innovator for the ES400 enterprise mobile computer,” said Girish Rishi, corporate vice president and general manager of mobile computing, Motorola Solutions. “The ES400 fills a gap for the enterprise – providing an innovative, sleek and size-optimized device that blends the best features of mobility and task functionality into one device without compromise.”
“Innovation is the cornerstone of all we do and the engine that drives the IT market. The technologies we rely on, and consider commonplace today, started on the backs of engineers and scientists in a R&D lab years ago. We applaud this year’s winners for the hard work, vision and commitment to providing innovative solutions to our industry and solution providers,” said Kelley Damore, Vice President, Editorial Director for Everything Channel.
Tech Innovators were nominated by their individual companies, and final selections were made by the editors of CRN and the CRN Test Center. The Tech Innovator awards were presented on November 12th at the 2010 XChange Tech Innovators Conference at the J.W. Marriott in Las Vegas.
Expanded coverage of the 2010 Tech Innovators will be featured in the December issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.crn.com.
