IBM checks into CIMS city

IBM HAS acquired CIMS Lab, a vendor of resource-tracking solutions for virtual networks, for an undisclosed amountIt’s the latest sortie in a spree by IBM to buy more management tools for its Tivoli division.

CIMS will help Tivoli gather data about usage of IT resources from servers, storage, networks, databases, applications and operating systems.

It’s about ‘helping companies more easily understand how their technology resources are being consumed’, says IBM.
