CYBERLINK showed off Magic Sports 2 which lets you tape a sports event you’ve recorded while you’re away and then auto-detects exciting moments during the game.
How does it do this? The firm said that it picks up and selects moments when the crowd ooh and aah as Michael Beckham, for example, nets the ball in the back of the goal, or a naked streaker runs onto the pitch.
The software works with Microsoft systems, and allows an analysis of programmes recorded with Microsoft Media Centre Edition or Cyberlink’s Power Cinema family.
The firm claims that an analysis takes between 15 to 20 per cent of the video’s time to complete, meaning that you can go away and get a few cans of beer in while it’s pondering over the game’s events. The software supports a number of sports including basketball, football, and baseball.
