RUMOURS THAT games publishing outfits were pulling out of developing PS3 software were abounding after hacks at PS3land had their legs pulled by developers at Track7 Games.
Stories started to appear on various bogs that games development companies had started to pull away from the PS3 because it was too costly to develop. In tracking down the source of the rumour it turned out that it was a yarn from PS3land.
PS3land interviewed Track7 Games who told them that Theseis for PlayStation 3 had been cancelled because of the exceptionally high cost of developing for PS3. The yarn said that the game will only be released on Xbox 360 and PC.
The story even quoted Track7 MD Vicky Valanos saying that if Sony were to offer his company assistance in producing a PS3 version we would be more than happy to oblige. PS3land understandably ran the story only to be rung up by Track7 and be told that the entire thing was a joke. The outfit never was developing Theseis for the PS3 in the first place.
