The new Sun Java Platform SE (Standard Edition) 6 Update 7 Itanium port brings significant performance gains thanks to improvements in the Java HotSpot virtual machine and Java class libraries. The result of a collaborative effort between Intel and Sun, the new Java SE release for Itanium supports both Windows and Linux environments and provides a complete development platform for Itanium-based solutions. The updated Development Kit can be downloaded directly from Sun.
