Chiclet Keyboard Quality
Invented by Sony, popularized by Apple, democratized by netbooks, the
keyboard of spaced keys (that is Chiclet) is the type of keyboard that
is the most comfortable to use over the long term.
The Chiclet keyboard of R580, without a reference material, is very good
and very responsive. With an expansive 17-key numeric keypad, hitting
the right number key is quiet easier (especially if your fingertips are
used to tap away at your PC). Whether you’re using Excel worksheets,
doing calculations or playing video games, it all adds up: SAMSUNG’s
numeric keyboard offers easy, enhanced usability.
The low profile island keyboard makes a seamless look and effortless
typing experience. While the haptic-enhanced LED touch pad lights up its
look and responds to your every touch. But it is unfortunate that the
plastic coating of the body, and therefore the contact area of the
wrists, is too sticky. If the plastic is painted beautiful in store,
this type of coating can create a drawback to the laptop: his contact
may sometime be unpleasant in the long run. Those who intend to spend
long hours writing on this machine may find some problems with it.
Good multimedia performance level
The R580 gets a new Intel Core i3 330M processor. A smart double core
(four logic core) is capable of running all applications. The R580’s
finish features an appealing gradation of colors and eye-catching
crystal S-pattern design while the new Intel Core i3 processor provides
blazing computing power. Supported by the NVIDIA GeForce N11P-GE graphic
card, the R580 is able to provide an exceptional video and gaming
experience.
Its advanced 3D graphics processing power and dedicated 512MB gDDR3
memory provide outstanding graphic performance, but very few games can
only be played with the native resolution (1366 x 768 pixels) and
moderate levels of detail.
The laptop shows more than 7000 points in 3D Mark 2006 and 2600 points
in 3DMark Vantage in standard mode. The R580 is certainly not a tiger
fighting, but a good product in the racing.
Battery very low
Is a short film enough for this? Why not, so you can enjoy
state-of-the-art 3D computer games and High Definition (HD) movies with
incredible performance and fidelity but we prefer two episodes of 24H
Chrono (40 minutes each) because the R580 has a battery life of 1:39 in
video mode (screen background, Wi-Fi enabled but not requested, DivX
video loop). By standing at graph (modes of power saving enabled) it
will go until 2:30, but that’s not enough. The R580 is not a nomad, but
the format never predestined anyway not to this.
Fully equipped
The R580’s 16:9 aspect ratio immerses you in games and movies with an
accurate representation. You’ll watch movies the way they were meant to
be seen. The laptop features Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi N, e-SATA, Express
Card, and webcam. It has a faultless performance on basic equipment. The
R580 even allows you to charge many of your portable devices with the
help of its USB charging port.

Conclusion
If it loses a star than it’s not the autonomy but because of the plastic
coating that is sticky link anything which makes palms sweaty and thus
affecting the typing speed. Except the price, the design, the keyboard
and the overall performance is more than a better and forces us to give a
five star.
